We all have one – your first crush, your first job, the death of a loved one, the day you met your mate, a family vacation, seeing your child for the first time. All of these stories define who you are.
Your Creator loves stories. He gave us a message that has a majority of narratives or stories in it.
But the greatest story He has ever given man is the story of Salvation. Allow me to share that story.
Our Creator loves us. John 3:16 says He “so loved” us. It is a love that cannot be sufficiently expressed in words, only in a deed. “He gave His only begotten Son.” Why? Because we broke God’s law. We have sinned. According to Romans 3:23 we have “come short of the glory of God.” Since we have done this, we deserve death and Hell; it is our wage, our paycheck, for breaking
God’s law. Romans 6:23 states, “For the wages of sin is death;”
However, God was not willing to let your story end there, so He sent His Son in the form of a man to pay the debt we could only pay by an eternity in the lake of fire. Romans 6:23 goes onto say, “but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.” He took your death, was buried, and proved His power by being raised from the dead three days later. Why did He do this? So your story doesn’t have to have a bad ending. He wants you to spend eternity with Him. How?
One word, believe. Now this is not just a belief in God or even a man named Jesus. Rather it is a belief that Jesus Christ and His story is your only hope for reaching Him and heaven. The Scriptures say in Romans 10:9, “That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.” Will you do that? Right now call out to Jesus, ask Him to save you, and tell Him you now trust Him as your only hope for heaven.
Maybe say something like this: “Dear Jesus, I know I’m a sinner. I know I deserve to go to Hell to pay for my sin. But I’m trusting you, Jesus, as my personal Saviour and my only hope for heaven. Please save me now. Amen.”
